Nevada Casinos Earn $1.126 billion in Revenues for May

The Gaming Control Board has announced that the Nevada Casinos have reached $1.126 billion in game revenues. The figures are the second highest revenuse since January of this year.

In comparison to revenues for May of 2005, the $1.126 billion revenues are nine percent higher than the $1.033 billion earnings of last year. The high figure is the fourth time this year that the casino revenues have reached the $1 billion mark and with these numbers, the casino analyst believes that the earnings are really impressive.

The casinos on the famuos Las Vegas Strip had an eleven percent game revenue increase from $543.1 million in May of last year to $603.7 million this year.

Baccarat is the all time favorite game in the month of May. The earnings in Wynn and Bellagio baccarat tournaments alone reached $86.8 million. This figure isa forty nine percent increase from the earnings a year ago.

In other casino games, gamblers wagered $2.8 billion on table games and $11.9 billion on slot machines. This gives a total of $15 billion dollars statewide for the month of May.

Meanwhile, casinos in Salt Lake Tahoe was the only region that had an annual decrease of earnings. The Salt Lake Tahoe casino revenues had a seven percent drop from $27.9 million of May 2005 to only $25.8 million for this year.
